MindGrind Wellness Center is a non-profit organization focused on fostering mental and emotional wellness among youth aged 12-24 in the Greater Memphis area. Recognizing the unique challenges that young people face today, we offer a range of programs designed to promote resilience, self-awareness, and positive coping strategies to assist youth in leading healthier lives.
Meet Deandra Calvin, LPC-MHSP
Youth, Adult & Family Counselor | Advocate for Underserved Communities | Founder of Patiently Discovering Peace, LLC & MindGrind Wellness Center
With a bubbly spirit and a heart rooted in service, Counselor Calvin is a licensed professional counselor from the inner city of Memphis, TN, committed to making mental health care accessible and relatable. Drawing from a strong background in school counseling, Counselor Calvin brings warmth, authenticity, and a down-to-earth approach to therapy—meeting clients exactly where they are.
She specializes in working with youth, adults, and families, especially those from underserved communities who often feel overlooked or misunderstood. Through her private practice, Patiently Discovering Peace, LLC, and nonprofit organization, MindGrind Wellness Center, she offers both individual and group support focused on healing, growth, and empowerment.
Whether helping teens navigate identity and self-worth, supporting women through anxiety and life transitions, or guiding families toward deeper connection, Counselor Calvin blends clinical skill with genuine care. Her approach is infused with laughter, empathy, and a fierce belief that everyone deserves a safe space to discover peace—even if they’ve never experienced it before.
